Girl’s Flutter Sleeve Dress Or Top Sewing Tutorial & Free Pattern In 4T

Printed out the pattern I found on line 

and taped it together 

Dresses all required:

 2 sleeve pieces, both on the fold, 

and two dress pieces, again both on the fold.

On some sleeves I decided to add trim, 

others I did not,,,

I sewed them together facing each other and then flipped out, pressed and stitched open.

I did the same on pockets

I sewed the seams in place after 

I had added the pocket to the front... 

(It wasn't on the pattern, but I knew my girls

 would want one)

I sewed the sleeves to under arm curve of dress after clipping right sides together

I added bias tape to sandwich the seam. 

I then sewed under the arm 

manipulating the bias tape in place 

Next up... I added the bias tape to the neckline

 (on back) to making a casing for elastic. 

The elastic was already joined and 

I then sewed it inside the bias tape 

stretching as I went, avoiding catching the elastic.

All that remained was the hem!
