Houston... We are ready for launch...

My life has been in a wedding planning frenzy as of late...
I have just returned from a marathon of venue exploration, vendor interviews, and finally bookings in Boston!
I am relieved to be back 🏡 in Texas...
I am feeling burnt out-
& this wedding isn't for 6 more months!

But guess what!?!?!?
It is quilt show time... my favorite time of year!
Hopefully,
The International Quilt Festival will be the ME TIME  I have earned & need!!!
5 days of feeling inspired, exploring, admiring, learning... and did I mention the SHOPPING!

Preparations for festival workshops always overwhelm me. The lists are so specific and often so excessive.
It is so frustrating... we never use half of what the instructors include on their supply lists...
But preparation is also the difference between a good workshop & a bad one.
Besides... I have had far more than my share of chaos as of late.

Every year I go through the same routine.
I desperately wait for the release of the workshop list...
I register ASAP...
I hope I get my first choices...
& then I wait some more.

I obsessively select my fabrics...
Gather my supplies...
And shop for more than I need because in the past it was always one of my favorite parts!
But this year my head is elsewheres & so I am hustling to get it done...

& as with every year previous- I mutter under my breathe...
I will never wait until the last minute again... (And then the cycle repeats).
So why would this year to be any different?
(Oh wait... it is because I never seem to be 🏡 home anymore!)

It has been quite a while since I have done any quilting at all & I hope I am up for it.
I am participating in 3 workshops this year... none were first choices...
But they should all be fun.

I collected, sorted, & stuffed sacks for each days workshop...
