“Rookie of the Year” quilts

Jaybird Quilts created a wonderful new book called
Quilts for Baby & Beyond.
The twins were arriving soon and it was
just the inspiration I needed to give a pattern from the book a try!
The quilt I decided on is called “Rookie of the Year” and its round. She designed it round so it can be used when baby is in the stroller.
This way none of the edges drag!!
(I ended up having to go with flat sides
though due to fabric shortage...
but I am happy with them.)

I found this wonderful science print
that I cut for both centers.
Then I cut up a stack of bright solids
 and made sure it included
the same colors in each-
but layed them out in different patterns.
It was a very simple pattern using my
Jaybird Quilts Sidekick Ruler
I placed a fusible batting in the middle
and used a grey Minky for the backing.
When it was time for a binding,
I decided to go 2 different colors
to give it a bit more variation...
And here is what I ended up with!
I could hardly wait to surprise my DD
and grandson with this visits deliveries!

Lil' TwinZ & Diapers

I decided it was time to start helping Abraham prepare to be a big brother...
for the twins will debut soon.
I knew he'd grown attached to this doll from Lovevery...
So I contacted them, ordered a second one-
 and shipped it here.
As soon as it arrived,
I started to work out a pattern for the pillow.
I copied the layout of the TwinZ pillow
I knew my DD would be using for the twins.
I used fabric I had laying about and
stuffed it full of leftover batting pieces...
easy peasy.
Creating the diapers... not so much!
I made quite a few-
before I finally got a good
working pattern that I could
duplicate consistently.
They close with velcro so he can use them-
without updating his snap skills!

PlumEasy Hot Pads... Precut squares of varied sizes with jazzy folds all glued in place before sewing down... and then the magic happens!

To go with each hot pad- I also created an ITH dish towel topper:

Once completed- I paired them up... added in some kitchen utensils and created special gifts

For Abraham... I also created a chefs hat and apron & mitts!
I English Paper Pieced several new ornaments for us:
And these 2 were new
