 Peter Pan Dresses 

for the Twins First Birthday!

I joined the on-line group 

Cottage Momma Patterns 

and was able to create my dresses

using the pattern she shared! 

SEW, I sprinkled some pixie dust... 

found fabrics online... 

eagerly awaited their arrival & got to work.

All my dress fabrics are part of 

Michael Miller- Peter Pan collection

As I sewed, I waited for my blues to be delivered.

And as soon as they arrived, 

I was back to sewing dress 2.

I was determined they be complimentary- 

but not the same!

The creation of these dresses 

turned out to be 

far more involved than anticipated... 

of course, that is because I over did it 

(seems I always do). 

I know now my daughter 

would have been equally happy 

with simple one fabric dresses. 

But, as always... 

It became yet another quilting obsession.

I still can't believe a year has passed!

I have returned from Neverland... 

where EVERYONE shared pixie dust 

and COVID-19.

Needless to say, now it is my turn 😷

First birthday sewing & creativity 

for the twins is in full force. 

I have already shipped the first box off 

to SB and await final fabrics 

to create the dresses my daughter

 requested for the twins to wear 

for their 1st birthday party!

Here are pics of just a few of the items 

I shipped out last week... 

(alas, somehow I forgot to take pics of the

 3 matching aprons I created 

for the twins and Abraham, but they are same pattern as criss cross below)

I created decorations for the 

highchairs for cake smash! 

This was a cross between making 

a mild dent in my ribbon stash

 and ITH embroidery for center flag:

...each ribbon was precut and then

 folded over in half and looped through itself...

I also made bibs for cake smash!

I added CAM snaps atop... to close

All that was last week. This week is all about the dresses. SEW far I did 2 trial run dresses to work out the kinks... and there are MANY as I await the part themed fabric requested.

First I ended up with this disaster :

That left me with a wasted eve 

and my seam ripper :(

But, eventually- I got here.

All the Peter Pan themed party fabrics should arrive today for party dresses... wish me luck!

Month 3 Mystery BOM “Ethereal Grove”

I have survived the creation of Month 3 of Sweet Pea’s Mystery Block of the month “Ethereal Grove”. My Tula Pink Fabrics and Embroidery thread got nearly as much use on this months blocks as my seam ripper and scissors. Time to start making plans for all those blocks with mistakes… because that pile keeps growing

I could not wait for the release of month 3... 

I was so eager to get started....

I jumped right in!!!

I absolutely loved this fabric idea... 

alas, not when I completed it :(

So back to restart next day...

Alas, I did not like this one either... 

and that was before I noticed error 

in placement of black/pink...

So next day I started- AGAIN

This one I liked... so I figured... 7 more to go 

Ummm, not quite...

Error after Error- 

and never found before block completion :(

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

But- 

let's back up a bit...

for I did manage to take pics 

of one full 

CORRECT 

block step by step.

CORRECT BLOCK?

I have had 8 fails at this point!!!

Finally- a fully completed block I loved!

And a few days later I finished the second one!

Except,

I didn't-

and it was back to that damn seam ripper and another day of stitching...

This quilts name when it is completed will most definitely have a name with exploitives!!!!

Anywho,

Eventually,

I found my way.

(And the growing row beneath the sign 

"Shit happens"

will eventually be used for 

"something"- I hope...)
